The journey continues. Last weeks pop up market was held at the Bryanston Shopping Centre. Sadly, the weather was not on our side. But I live for the networking and learnings that comes with every step of trying to make a success of the visions that have been brewing from within. Wool and Needle is a mantle, greatness is within reach.

My assistant secretly took pictures of me while I was working at making the set what I had desired it to be. Then she goes on to say the following, "When you have your shop, remember these moments here and how hard you've been working." We laughed about it because honestly, it has been a long, yet productive day of sheer hard work with her help and encouragement. What I am doing today, did not take a single leap of faith, its taken several leaps, jumps, hopscotching, swings and heck crawls of faith, and I can only hope that these will lead me to a path I have long envisioned in my mind for myself and those I have been called to serve. So I am marking this date, the 23rd of June 2022 and let us see where we will be a year from now with God's help. The seeds have been planted, it is just a matter of time. That shop is coming, and I am confident that it will do what it came to do.

As the founder and owner of Wool and Needle, one of my heart's desire is for the organisation to be the voice of the little ones. There is no "them" or "they". It takes a village to raise a human being. Remember, that at some point we were conceived and later in diapers to do something on this earth, and most importantly just to be, to live and freely so. I as the founder and owner may never know the struggles of parenthood, but my attempt in understanding brings me closer to my perceived responsibility to humanity. There is much to be done in this world, and I am personally ready to live up to the dreams that often "scare" me. Nothing breaks my heart like a child begging on the street for survival, no matter the circumstantial reasons that have led them there. That said, servitude is the name of the game and for the little ones we shall serve them. Wool and Needle says for all babies and children alike, You are loved.

A picture perfect moment after an early start to the day, had us posing and smiling for the camera. But behind these smiles has been a lot of work, planning, prayer, financial and emotional investment into a 13 year old life long dream. It finally came to life on the 28th May 2022 at the Walter Sisulu Gardens through popping.co.za, for all eyes to see the behind the scenes work. As a first time business owner, innovator and entrepreneur, out of yesterday's experience came impeccable learnings, great interest and commentary from potential customers as well as a few customers that left with some of the products that have been proudly designed and made in South Africa by Africans. Wool and Needle is ready, it is ready to give, serve, to receive, to evolve in every possible way. And that fire will never be snuffed out.
