Now , there are times when you really need to venture into the unknown.........and you not sure if you going to be successful or not........but , if you don't try , you will never know.
The customer brings these boots in. The inner plastic toe caps are hurting him , he wants them removed. Now , because I have no idea how this boot is put together........is it just glued or is it welt stitched ????.......I could be opening a can can of worms . And the only way to remove the cap it by taking the front of the shoe apart. And to add pressure the customer tells me the shoes are 20 years old old and are very sentimental.
But because I believe all things are possible.........🤔
Well purely out of curiosity........I already removed the one cap shortly after the customer left.........and , very relieved.....avoided the can of worms.

Like in the movies. This was a very close call......like five or less seconds.
This elderly customer brings these shoes in for resole. As she hardly wears them and they not really that comfortable she decided it would cost too much to fix. She said I can cut them up and use them if I wanted to and then leaves.
I finished another job , then took a knife and just as I wanted to cut the shoes.........she walks in and shouts STOP. She changed her mind and wanted them fixed because a new pair cost a lot of money. And said it would be a shame to destroy such a good pair of shoes...........she will have them fixed and more than likely give them to some one.🤔
Hey.........God provides in mysterious ways...........who am I to argue.🤫

So this is a never before attempt.
Customer said the new boots are a bit tight around the ankle.
Where there is a will........there is a way. Surprisingly, the boots stretched more than I thought it would. Just some wood and a hammer for some " panel beating".🤫...........hope they not too loose now.🙃

Probably about over six year ago a young lad walks into our shop and asked if we can build up his Tekkies............but.........he has no idea what his measurements are. "Asseblief my oomie , help my. Die Ander mense wil my oor R4000 vra"
Well , like I said before. We are NOT orthopaedic dudes. We DO NOT take measurements or give advise. But if you say pleeeeeaaase Oomie.........🤔,well.
So with some trail and error .........we made a plan🤫. His very happy and feels comfortable.........at a fraction of the price.........and.......I'm now his.......Oomie😄
