Entertain/host at home Tip 5: Enjoy the day of your event! Remember to leave time to get dressed and comfortable in your own space. Again, big or small, hosting can be a lot of fun. Get your friends or family involved and give them something to do.
Have a glass of wine, or gin, or whatever is your poison, with you in the kitchen, while you have great fun and laughs with your guests.

Entertain/host at home Tip 4: Have your shopping list ready, and plan your décor. You want all your shopping to be done, at least, a day before. From ingredients, to drinks, flowers, tableware, etc. I even like setting up the décor, table setting etc the day before, which leaves you to mostly, only have to prepare food on the day.

Entertain/host at home Tip 3: Time to plan the menu! Depending on your personality, time etc, this could either be very exciting, or very daunting. Entertaining at your house doesn't mean you HAVE to prepare everything yourself. Be clever, some grocery stores aid you to build platters, meals or desserts yourself. Be creative. You don't necessarily have to work hard.

Entertain/host at home Tip 2: You don't necessarily need a theme, but obviously need to decide the direction of your function. Are you hosting friends, family, colleagues, clients etc.? A casual, friendly get-together doesn't mean it has to be boring. If you like entertaining, make it fun for yourself. It could be as simple as just choosing your favourite colour or a trendy flower.

Do you love to host/entertain in your home?, but don't know where to start?
Since there are so many public holidays and long weekends ahead, I thought I would share some tips on how to get ready to entertain.

Entertain/host at home Tip 1:
Be sure to send out the "save the date" or Invitation soon enough. We live in crazy times and we are all chasing after meetings, weekend plans, and our brood's extra curricular calender.
Sending out your event date will ensure your guests book the date into their calender to avoid double bookings.
