Have a sewing machine or overlocker that everyone else gave up on...? Let me have a look at it for you. I was fortunate enough so far, to fix machines that were "beyond repair". Often I receive sewing machines that are stuck and won't work - aangeslaan in Afrikaans. Most of the time it turns out that the previous person who serviced the machine, used grease instead of machine oil to lubricate the moving parts. As the machine gets hot and fluff builds up, this combination forms a grinding paste and gets sticky, to the extent that the machine is unable to function. This requires the whole machine to be taken apart and all the moving parts soaked to clean. In worst cases, this could be a few days' process. If you wonder about your machine, contact me to have a look and advise whether a service or cleaning is required.

While doing my series of Sewing Machine Service and Repair training sessions in George, I was allocated some of these "written-off" machines to learn on and am happy to say I managed to repair several of them to be sold as refurbished machines. Over the past few years of doing this, I was able to repair several machines that were "irreparable".
