It’s the Vintage Ob s Day and this year its is going to be exploding with New energy with a new phrase for the Day : Vintage Ob s – Contemporary times, as we bring together, the awesome History and Energy of Ob s with Vintage Vehicles, Vintage Clothing and markets alongside Contemporary revisions of Vintage ideology, in terms of style, design, cr
aftsmanship, as we celebrate handcrafted epicurean ideas of contemporary designs in Music, Jewelry, fashion, craft beer, Street food, Art Exhibitions Performance art, Tattoo artists, Dance and Martial Arts. The streets of Ob s ( Lower Main Street and others dependent on numbers of vehicles) will be closed off to all vehicles except Cars and motorcycles pre 1979’s and Ob s Visitors and residents will be encouraged to wear vintage clothing in the style they feel ready to express , from 1979s and earlier. It’s a community day with No entry fee where all are invited to enjoy the Old School energy of Obs. Last year Ob s vintage day had about 100 Vintage cars lining the streets on display transforming Ob s into a truly retro feel vibe, and we are expecting in the region of 200 vehicles this year. All will be on display for the public to view as well as setting an amazing backdrop taking Ob s back t yesteryear. It will be a visual step back in time with the advantage of new Vision and Renewed contemporary Craftsmanship with regards to design, fashion, food, crafted cocktails and craft beer. The event is a Free Community Event. THE DAYS EVENT
The streets and the Village green will be lined with cars motorcycles and farming vehicles (Reflecting on Ob s history) of different eras, and pockets of time zones will be created along the streets with car, fashion, dance, and music and art. In the Green there will be a vintage Market, with fashion, books, jewelry, Vinyl’s, Contemporary designer goods, food and craft beer and contemporary cocktail stalls. Additionally there will be a kids zone in this area creating an environment for all. Displays of Dance, Performance Art, martial Arts and Tai Chi classes will operate throughout the day. There will be Art installations in the Park celebrating the public and visual activation of outdoor public spaces. We will have Electro swing DJ – JP Da silver playing cool vibes in the park with swing dancers and legendary Old School DJ – Superfly playing 70’s and 80’s music to keep the vibe going. Bars and restaurants and stores in Ob s will all be open offering their own Vintage style and with Food and Drink promotions and sale items in other specialty stores. There will be Music lineup ranging from Rockabilly to Swing. The music lineup will be directed across the board to cover all genres from the old time swing to the Hipsters of the Day. There are Public areas as well as the Three main Music venues both that can accommodate 100, 150, 300 and 500pax which will keep the line up and energy vibe going from 10 am till 5pm for the closed streets times and then into the evening as the visitors move predominantly indoors. THE HISTORY
The Observatory will be open for the day and we will have some guided walkabout tours of Ob s for the day giving some insight into Ob s heritage. EVENT LINEUP
A schedule of bands and events and released outlining the times of happenings throughout the day keeping the Ob s alive with all businesses being open and showcasing themselves on the day to the communities of Ob s and beyond. THE VENUE SPECIALS
