Reflections on Day 10: A Final Push at Thabonaka Wool Trend Creations
​Yesterday marked the emotional and high-energy conclusion of our 10-day Crochet and Knitting Workshop at Lighthouse Clarens. It was a day of intense focus, pride, and bittersweet goodbyes.
​Quality Over Everything
​While we didn't pause for a final group photo, it was for the best possible reason: we were too busy marking our success. The owner of Lighthouse Me. Brenda captured every single product into the system, ensuring that every participant's hard work was recognized, scored for performance, and officially documented. This process turned our handmade items into a professional inventory, giving the creators the credit they deserve.
​An Incredible Harvest of Handmade Goods
​The sheer volume of work produced by this group is a testament to their dedication and newfound skill. Together, we completed:
​150 Mixed Bracelets
​26 Wine Glass Holders
​8 Scarves
​7 Slouchy Hats
​5 Hair Bands
​3 Bucket Hats
​3 Kids Beanies
​2 Roll-ups
​Heartfelt Goodbyes
​Leaving the participants was the hardest part. There were heavy hearts as the workshop came to a close, but I leave feeling incredibly blessed. Being embraced by the Lighthouse Organization family has been a highlight of my journey. While I may be moving on to the next chapter, the skills these participants now hold in their hands will stay with them forever.
​Thank God we made it. To the participants: wear your scores with pride—you are now officially creators!
