Her passion for wedding dresses began at the tender age of 9 and she's been dreaming up bridal creations ever since. Each Maryke wedding dress is handmade and reflects the bride's true personality. An impeccable fit, meticulous detailing and the use of the finest materials are synonymous with a Maryke design. Her studio is based in Hilton, on the outskirts of the KZN Midlands and Pietermaritzburg.

Since I held a needle and thread in my hand (around age 6 or 7), having the back of my embroidery / inside of my garments match the neatness & aesthetic of the outside, was a non-negotiable requirement. Because just as true beauty comes from within, my garments are as well-crafted on the inside as on the outside. In fact, at times, I believe it is almost more important than the outer appearance.
