ICONIC ELEGANCE! Beautiful Claire in her bespoke Maryke wedding gown. Layers of luxurious Mikado and a really, cute, cheeky little reception dress hiding underneath all those princess vibes.

Claire's dress journey kicked off with an online consult, 2 fittings and a pre-final fitting 9 days before her wedding. Yes, pre-final. She trusted my process from the onset, to the extent that the lovely Danielle from collected her dress on her behalf a couple of days before the wedding!

That, is next level trust - not lost on me; thank you .

Even when we combine different design elements and lace from multiple samples off our rail, your Maryke wedding dress is still Bespoke (Custom). Every dress is designed and made in-house, along with being custom fitted to your measurements.

Beautiful Elzanne fell in love our romantic, tulle Hannah design, but preferred a more structured bodice, Heloise lace and a custom colour. The result: a bespoke design, tailor made to Elzanne's most beautiful personality and measurements.

This is the one kind of maths I do love doing, because not only is a Maryke wedding dress a work of art, it is also the artful skill of translating every bride's measurements, with precision and vision, into her dress's pattern.

It is a process of refining as the dress progresses, especially at the toille (mock-up) phase, but a well designed pattern forms a solid foundation for the rest of the design.

A bride who embraced her natural beauty and trusted the process. I first met Francis during her first appointment in January 2025. She had a clear vision for her wedding dress, looking for something understated, but exuding elegance and nothing over the top. The minute she stepped into our satin corset wedding dress Brogan, she knew it was the one. The only request being a slight drop at the front to create a subtle Basque, and an exquisite bow at the back.

With beautiful Francis based in Belize, we had an initial toille fitting in January last year and finished her gorgeous wedding dress a week before her wedding in December.

A fun fact about her dress: I had a special piece of Duchess Satin sampling I imported from Europe in 2019, and all this time it has been waiting for the right bride and her design. Francis was this bride, and the results were breath-taking.

FAQ: How long does a Maryke Wedding Dress take to make?

The question of all questions. Swipe to see my process.

In an ideal world, a minimum 6 - 9 months is good. 9 -12 months is even better, however I know most brides don't plan their wedding dresses that far in advance anymore (those were the days ;). Will you believe me when I say standard wedding dress timelines used to be 12 - 18 months?

It is especially important to allow adequate time for a custom (bespoke) design.

Why is this timeline required?

For one, I do not believe in a rushed process, as quality, precision & excellence requires time.

Our production schedule has a certain capacity which I don't exceed. This preserves the integrity of my brand and customer service.

Each dress is hand made in my studio, by my team and I. It is not mass-produced and every bride and her dress are treated individually, according to her own measurements and design requirements.

Why I allow for an up to 2 hour initial appointment:

Because I believe it isn't a race. And it shouldn't be a rush. The human mind functions best in calm, un-rushed pockets of time, and there are few life events like choosing your wedding dress that will require this more.

Through a unique approach, recently introduced to my first appointments, I take the abstract and make it tangible, because I am here to help you sift through your thoughts and ideas; to narrow them down until we define your ‘’one’’.

I also generally like to end with a sketch, where applicable, as it pulls the entire appointment together and provides a blueprint as reference when creating a wedding dress.

I couldn't help feeling emotional when I read through Zoe's client review. Every word settled into my heart and designer soul, as it reflected every bit of intention and love I pour into my brides and the process.

What made this extra special, is that we never got to meet in person. All this transpired across continents, and to know that even with the distance between us, Zoe still felt & experienced the personal touch which is so important to me, made my heart sing.
