The smile you see after getting your new Jim Green Boots 😁🌿
“You’re in the forest for a minimum of seven days at a time — sleeping out there, moving constantly.” — Yoann Galeran, Park Director.🌕
Deep in the Congo Basin’s Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve, conservation means more than patrols. Alongside law enforcement against illegal logging, mining and poaching, the approach centres on the 50,000 people who call the forest home, especially the Ba’aka, whose ancestral knowledge makes them exceptional rangers, trackers, and guides.🐾
Home to stable populations of forest elephants (approx 2 500) and western lowland gorillas, the reserve blends protection with sustainable use through ecotourism, agroforestry, education and community benefits.🦍
No separation between nature and people but rather true integration.🤝
A model where conservation works with people, not against them🐘
