As everyone knows each person goes through many seasons in their life and at the start of this new independent adult season of my life I reflected and asked God to please help me find my talent and to help me find something I can be passionate about preferably something where I will be able to be creative.
Next came wedding season and myself and many of my friends went ahead and tied the knot and still I was waiting and praying to discover my passion. Soon after the wedding season passed came the season of the stork and oh boy did he make many deliveries amongst my friends and family! It was during one of the customary baby showers held to celebrate the mommy and the new life she is carrying that God helped me to realise where my passion can be found.
There I was sitting at the baby shower “oohing” and “aaahing” over all the lovely gifts that the mommy received for her little one that I realised that the mommy to be had received a few doubles of some of the items and that this has been the case at many of the other baby showers I had attended previously. It was then that I started thinking that most people shop at the same stores and chances of getting doubles of certain items of clothing are very high and in order to avoid being in a situation where my gift might be the same as someone else’s I started thinking that at the next baby shower I will be attending I would like to give the mommy to be and her little one something unique and special, something that will stand out amongst the rest of the gifts but also something that is personal to them and that is where the idea of my first Name Outfit was born and my baby RoloQ was created. And so on 16 September 2017 I created my first handmade felt name outfit. I was filled with so much excitement while making the outfit because I felt I had finally found my talent and it felt absolutely wonderful to be able to use my hands and the talent God has given me to create something beautiful.
All RoloQ’s products are unique. The clothing items are sourced from trusted and reliable suppliers. All of the felt used on the outfits are handcrafted and sewn on by hand. I design and cut all of my own letters, numbers and patterns which I then sew on each outfit by hand. I have recently expanded into making mobiles and each of the items on the mobile is also individually designed, cut and sewn together by hand.
My dream is to continue growing and expanding RoloQ as this is a passion that I want to be working on for many more years to come!
