Our Brown Tankwa Boots hold a very special place in our hearts as the very first product we ever made.

And if you’ve been keeping an eye on our socials, you’ll know there’s never been a better time to own a pair. We’re getting ready to launch our brand-new Brown Tankwa Tassels, designed to pair perfectly with the boots that started the ROF journey.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that you can’t build a brand alone 🤎

None of this would be possible without the incredible craftsmen and women standing beside us, turning ideas into products we’re genuinely proud of.

There were moments when it felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong. But together, we kept showing up, solving problems and taking the next step forward.

Today, we’re proud of the products we make. Proud of the packaging they leave in. Proud of the experience we’re creating. And most of all, proud of the team behind it all.

We’re incredibly grateful for how far we’ve come.

Now let’s see what comes next.

A letter from our founder 💌

We’ve done the calculations, checked them twice and then checked them again. Somehow, May became the best month in ROF’s history!

There have been so many moments over the years where we wondered whether we should keep going. It felt like every possible challenge found its way to us at one point or another. But one thing I learned from my dad is that you don’t give up. Looking back now, I’m incredibly grateful that we didn’t.

What makes this milestone even more special is knowing that every order represents someone choosing to support local craftsmanship. So, thank you! What started as a small business has grown far beyond anything we imagined. Not only in South Africa and the Netherlands, markets we’ve come to know so well, but now through orders and wholesale enquiries coming from all over the world. It’s exciting, a little overwhelming and definitely humbling.

To everyone who has supported us, worn our shoes, shared our story or recommended us to a friend: thank you. You have played a massive part in getting us here 🤎

As soon as I get back from the Netherlands, we will properly celebrate this milestone with the ROF team.

When we shared our call-out for the Brown Tankwa Tassels shoot in South Africa, we didn’t expect so many messages from our European community 🤎

And the more we read through them, the more we realised we didn’t want this campaign to only live in one place.

So, Netherlands, we need you too.
For the launch of our Black Tassels, it was our team in front of the camera. This time, we want to tell the story through our community.

We’re planning a second Brown Tankwa Tassels shoot in Amsterdam on either 8 or 9 July, with our incredible friend Esther | Lifestyle Fotograaf behind the camera. Think Amsterdam canals, beautiful city corners, effortless style and the Brown Tankwa Tassels paired with everyday city looks.

In a few weeks, I’ll be leaving my babies behind and heading to the Netherlands for two weeks 🤎

Honestly, I can’t even remember the last time I got on a plane by myself.

What started as a trip to attend one of my friend’s weddings has somehow turned into a full programme. Catching up with friends, photoshoots, ROF projects, exciting collaborations and hopefully a few adventures squeezed in between.

I’m already excited and very grateful for the type of relationship I have with Leo, where we want these kind of opportunities for one another.
