Kaku was launched in 2015 by Sue and Karen Liebenberg, a mother and daughter team living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Kaku was born out of our personal struggle to find clothes that are stylish, timeless, flattering, beautiful and easy to wear. What we have observed over the years is that many women are very self-conscious about their b***s, and want to minimise them.

🐦We just love our bird feeders, one of our own beaded creations.
Our very first design was based on a classic bird cage. We have developed a more simple feeder based on customer feedback.

From garden birds to pretty flowers, we can add whatever takes your fancy. We constantly fill our feeders with bird seed and suet balls, attracting a gorgeous array of garden birds.

🎉 Eleven years ago today my mum and I launched Kaku Designs!
It has been an incredible journey with many highs and a few lows. For me personally, losing my precious mum was a devastating blow. But I know she would want me to carry on with the journey we started together. ❤️

Looking through our catalog of beautiful customer photos was deeply affirming. To see ladies looking happy and radiant in our clothes has been an immense joy.
🌈 We have met amazing, inspirational women who have one thing in common - they live big, bold lives. Unapologetic and brave. Which is why they are drawn to our colourful, bold range. They aren’t shrinking violets who prefer to play it safe.

💃🏻 We accept we’re not for everyone but boy, do we love the ladies who love us!
Here’s to the next 11 years! 🥂
