I’m endlessly nostalgic for a time I never actually lived in.

Old sewing machines and vintage radios.
A world that seemed to have more soul ✨
Things were made to last, beauty was celebrated, and real love was still something worth believing in.

TEHINI is my little cave, filled with pieces of an era I miss so deeply, even though I never got to be there. 🤎

Tehini was never supposed to be a CMT.

It started with a dream to create a women’s sports apparel brand.

I wanted what most small brands want when they’re starting out - lots of designs, small quantities and enough variety to give my customers something exciting without sitting with hundreds of units of the same garment.

The problem was, nobody wanted to manufacture that way.

Local CMTs wanted minimums of 100 units per style.

China was even less realistic. Fabric minimums started at around 500 yards, manufacturing minimums ran into the thousands, and I knew I’d lose the detail and individuality I wanted in my designs.

So I kept looking.

And looking.

Eventually I realised I was searching for a business that simply didn’t exist.

So I built it.

I bought machines. I figured out production. I learnt the mistakes the expensive way. And down the line, the sportswear brand I was trying so desperately to create became something much bigger.

Tehini became the CMT I had spent years looking for.

One that understood small brands.
One that allowed them to start small.
To experiment.
To create variety.
To grow without producing hundreds of garments before they even knew what would sell.

I thought I was fighting to build a clothing brand.

Turns out, I was building the manufacturer I wish I’d had.

And that’s how Tehini began.

Italian fabrics. Satin lapels. Elegant graffiti lining hidden beneath the formality. Ruffled shirt. Pintuck trousers. Detail layered upon detail.

A tuxedo made for a very special groom, and one of my favourite pieces to leave our space.

The Tehini experience was never built on hype, it was built on ex*****on.
What started as a vision to create a better manufacturing experience has evolved into something far bigger than production alone.
Today, Tehini is a team of people who move with precision, calm and trust under pressure. A space where quality is protected, timelines are respected and every person understands the importance of their role within the bigger picture.
Sipho, my right hand, leads our production floor with extraordinary calm and compassion. Samantha, our meticulous pattern maker, brings technical brilliance and precision to every line we produce. Ndu leads sampling while assisting with cutting and is an exceptional machinist in his own right.
Issa has been with me since the very beginning. Quiet, kind and absolute magic on the machine. Talent brings thoughtfulness and skill into everything she touches, while Tatenda and Lisa ensure every garment leaves our space cleaned, pressed and finished to the highest standard.
No ego. No noise. Just people who genuinely care about what they create.
As Tehini has grown, so has our understanding of what luxury manufacturing truly means.
It is about exceptional garments, but more than that, it is about communication, consistency, meeting timelines, protecting the client experience and solving obstacles before they become mountains.
Our clients come to us for quality, but they stay because they know their brand is in safe hands.
We’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible brands, creatives and fellow CMT’s over the years and one thing has remained constant through all of it -
The respect, loyalty and family within our space.
