AMUKELANI TO CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF HER HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW EP, KUHLULA, AT TRACKSIDE STUDIOS
A vibrant fusion of music, fashion, dance and community comes to Soweto on 1 August 2026
SOWETO, SOUTH AFRICA — If you've spent time at some of South Africa's most respected cultural spaces from Sawubona Music Jam and The House to Afrikan Freedom Station and beyond, you've likely been captivated by the unmistakable voice of Amukelani. Consistent, hardworking and deeply soulful, the vocalist-songwriter has quietly become one of the country's most compelling emerging artists.
Now, after years of honing her craft and building a devoted following, Amukelani is ready to share her next chapter with the world.
In partnership with Gaza Nation Hub 3.0, Trackside Studios is proud to present the official launch of Amukelani's forthcoming EP, KUHLULA, taking place on Saturday, 1 August 2026, from 2PM at Trackside Studios, Soweto.
More than a listening session, KUHLULA promises to be an immersive celebration of artistic expression. Guests can expect an afternoon where music converges with fashion, dance, storytelling and community, creating a rich cultural experience that reflects the spirit and vision behind the project.
Born and raised in Giyani, Limpopo, Amukelani has earned recognition for her ability to blend Afro-soul, Contemporary R&B and modern African sounds into deeply personal songs centred on healing, love and self-discovery. Her warm, resonant voice and heart-centred songwriting have seen her perform at notable platforms including Constitutional Hill, Market Theatre, Sawubona Music Jam, the Soweto Arts & Culture Festival and Giyani Arts Week. Over the years, she has also lent her talents to acclaimed collaborations such as "Washa" with Just Bheki and Sir Trill, while continuing to develop her own distinctive artistic identity.
KUHLULA marks an important milestone in her artistic journey. It is a declaration of growth, resilience and creative freedom.
