EKasi Fashion Week Brings Fashion to the Taxi Rank on Youth Day
Duduza, Gauteng – 16 June 2026
eKasi Fashion Week, in partnership with Taxi News Media Group and the Springs Taxi Association, proudly presents the Duduza Taxi Rank Fashion Show, taking place on 16 June 2026 at Majola Taxi Rank, Duduza.
Held in celebration of Youth Day, this groundbreaking event transforms a busy public transport hub into a vibrant runway, creating opportunities for emerging fashion designers, models, artists, and creatives from townships across Ekurhuleni to showcase their talent.
The event aims to challenge stereotypes associated with taxi ranks by highlighting them as spaces of culture, creativity, community development, and positive social engagement. A unique feature of the showcase will see local taxi drivers joining professional and aspiring models on the runway, symbolizing unity between the transport and creative industries.
Founded by Steven Monoki, eKasi Fashion Week is dedicated to empowering township creatives by providing platforms for exposure, networking, skills development, and access to new markets.
"This event is about celebrating youth, creativity, and community. We want to demonstrate that fashion can thrive anywhere, including spaces often overlooked by the mainstream industry The taxi rank belongs to the people, and on Youth Day it becomes a stage for local excellence," said Steven Monoki, Founder of eKasi Fashion Week.
