Hallo my name is Maria,
It has been so long since I have really been active on this platform I feel like I should re-introduce myself to you.
I grew-up in the beautiful Cape Winelands and had the privilege to study Fashion Design here in Stellenbosch.
After completing my diploma I applied for an internship at Cardova Trading in Cape Town, the producers of the popular breakfast show, Expresso on SABC3. In January 2014 I started working the the magical world of Media.
I could not have asked for a better mentor, Alexis shaped me as a stylist, a young working professional but most importantly as a woman. And I will always be thankful for the years I got to work alongside her.
After my first year at Expresso I was promoted from Fashion Assistent to Head of the Wardrobe department. It was a steep learning curve, but a welcome challenge and such an amazing experience to work with some of South Africa’s favourite personalities.
My time at Cardova really opened so many doors for me and was the perfect place to develop and grow as a stylist.
Since then I have worked as a freelance stylist, I have attended a summer school in New York (take me back!) and I have gotten married and started a family.
I am excited for this new season and so ready to start writing the next chapter in the story of .
