1973 and the dress that got 10 year old Rosy Posy hooked on a statement sleeve.
That sleeve, the delicate detail of the tiny buttons on the cuff and down the back, covered by hand in matching fabric and the hand stitched parasol reflected the love and craftsmanship behind this adored ensemble.

Some treasures don’t just survive the years.
The Bonfit Patterner, a clever little invention from the 1950s and 60s that helped dressmakers slide, pin and dream their way into custom‑fit silhouettes. A relic from a time when style was sculpted by hand, not software.
And here we are in 2026, still holding these vintage pattern packs in our studio at Rosy Posy; still tracing curves, still shaping stories, still believing that beautiful clothing begins with beautiful craft.
Times have changed, yes. Techniques have evolved, fabrics have transformed and the world has sped up. But the heart of dressmaking? That part hasn’t moved an inch. It still lives in the quiet joy of measuring, the soft rustle of calico, the thrill of a perfect fit and the gentle pride of making something that lasts.
From mid‑century pattern magic to modern handmade design; we’re stitching past and present together, one garment at a time.

By simply adding some elastic and wool fringing this cherished garment has a new story to tell.
