A friend of Mine had a decent paying Job. He earned over k10,000/Month. But he decide to quit. Just like most of us. He wanted more. And there is nothing Wrong with desiring more. He then Started a side hustle. He Started a business of Supplying Stationary to a certain Company. Which earned him k60 000 per month with a net profit of k15,000.
After 3 months. He came to seek for my Counsel. His plan was to quit his Job. He said," bro. I admire you. You work for yourself and make good money. I want to quit my job and start a business just like you" .
I responded, " bro, thats Su***de. it's too early. For now keep your day time job. Before you decide to quit. Learn more about business and have atleast 3 or more Clients. Do it for Some time, then you can quit when your business is Stable.
However, Just like a girl, whose in love with a pl***oy from Lusaka town. He decided not to take my advice. I heard he had quit his job. Offcourse I was against it, hence he didn't tell me about it.
A few months later, the Company he supplied Stationery to, found a Cheaper Supplier and cut him out as they ddnt have a written contract with him. It was Such a big blow to him. To add more Salt on the Wond. He had Just Married a fine woman, who desired all the fine things money can buy.
The day I bumbed into him I couldn't recognize him, as he had lost weight. The big Cheeks where nomore. His old ragged dirty Shoes, Could easily tell the story about what he was going through. After a few Minutes into our catch up Conversation, he opened up that his Wife told him not to return home unless he Finds Food and Money to pay their house Rent. I could feel, the pain in his Voice, as he mumered in his Speech.
