Kuya Kwile is a social entreprenuership business created to empower vulnerable women of Zambia. The women are trained in machine knitting, groovy/loom knitting and crochet. They are then engaged as suppliers for the production team, of which they are required to create a certain number of knitted/crochet products. They are paid for each item they make, therefore augmenting an income they previously could not earn. The products are then sold and the profits and re-invested into empowering more vulnerable women in the skill, and also in HIV/AIDS and Cancer awareness, protection and awareness against gender based violence, household food security and nutrition.
