Our collection for SA Menswear Week SS26 was themed "Umcwebo" - a story of strength, heritage, and a tribute to resilience, culture, and the journey that shaped us. Every piece carries a Story.

"Umcwebo" is an IsiNdebele word that refers to decoration, adornment, or beautification - especially the way people express identity, culture, and status through what they wear or how they present themselves.

The theme "Umcwebo" is inspired by the values my late father instilled in me and my personal journey as a creative. It represents both the good and the challenging days - a balance of strength, struggle, and growth. The collection embodies my brand's essence: telling authentic stories rooted in heritage, resilience, and staying true to oneself.
I worked with denim, a tough fabric that symbolizes the hard days and the strength it takes to push through them. In contrast, I used soft, light tones like n**e to reflect moments of peace and calm. Some pieces are loose and free-flowing, symbolizing a bird ready to take flight - a reminder that through every struggle, there's growth and freedom ahead.

My late father played a big role in shaping who I am today. I dedicated my showcase to him as a way of honoring his memory and the values he taught me, such as hard work, respect, and staying true to myself. His support and belief in me, even when he wasn’t around, gave me the strength to push through challenges. Carrying his influence into my art keeps me grounded and reminds me that my journey as a designer is also about family, love, and legacy.
