Rethinking acoustic performance through agricultural waste. Sugarcrete® Acoustic Board transforms sugarcane bagasse fibers into high-performance, bio-based interior panels.

Developed by University of East London researchers and further refined in partnership with BAGACEIRA, the board combines Class A sound absorption with fire resistance, VOC-free air quality, and thermal insulation.

By trapping stored carbon and diverting crop waste from burning, it offers a low-carbon, compostable solution for interior partitions. BAGACEIRA’s mineral pigments enhance the fibrous texture into expressive architectural surfaces.

Manufactured from textile waste in the UAE, TexBrick by OKSAN Group transforms recovered textile fibres into a circular composite for the built environment. Combined with a mineral-based binder system, the material is being developed for architectural, landscaping, interior, and modular applications.

By turning discarded textiles into a functional material resource, TexBrick explores how local waste streams can become locally relevant construction materials. With ongoing R&D focused on strength, durability, water resistance, and bio-based binders, it offers a glimpse into more circular material systems.

From healthcare to hospitality, the evening reframes luxury and wellbeing through the lens of responsive design - creating spaces that restore rather than simply impress.

From seaweed to biofoam.

Agoprene is a petroleum-free foam made from seaweed biomass and minerals, developed as an alternative to conventional petrochemical-based foams. Its dense, semi-closed-cell structure delivers a balance of durability, comfort, and performance while reducing reliance on fossil-based materials.

Designed with its full lifecycle in mind, Agoprene can be recycled or biodegrade naturally in soil. With a tested lifespan of up to 10 years and Crib 5 fire safety certification, it shows how bio-based materials can bring performance and circular thinking together.

Foresso is a handcrafted timber terrazzo made from reclaimed British wood that would otherwise go to waste. Using offcuts from local workshops and felled urban trees, each sheet is cast with a non-toxic, formaldehyde-free bio-resin, creating surfaces where no two pieces are ever the same.

Designed for joinery, furniture, worktops and wall applications, Foresso celebrates the natural grain and character of every timber chip while embracing a true circular approach. Demonstrating how thoughtful craftsmanship can keep valuable resources in use for longer.
