While travelling last month I read the first half of ‘s This One Wild and Precious Life. The first non-phd reading I’ve done in yearsssss!
I noted down almost every second sentence. It resonated so much with what I was feeling in that moment, witnessing the Balinese live with and adhere to such incredibly strong and resilient cultural and spiritual authenticity. Sitting wondering where and what my culture was. My purpose. My power. If I really had any, or needed to?
I adore this quote in particular. It relates to every aspect of my life. And I sat (by a pool staring at rice paddies, mind you) wondering how everyone else around me was feeling.
How do you feel?
Sarah also wrote, “Moral loneliness is when the supply cord to connection, caring and doing the right thing by each other and the planet has been severed.”
Whether its your daily attempts to do better by the planet, your slow fashion journey, abortion advocacy, or something else entirely…
Does this resonate? How are YOU feeling?
Has your supply cord been severed? Humanity’s? Or do you feel supported and empowered by community? Both?
