What I’ve Stopped Asking ...

In or out this season?

Take leather pants, for example. Whether they’re in or out means nothing to me. I’ve had a pair or two in my wardrobe since I was 21.

Perhaps there was a year here or there where I didn’t reach for them, but never for long.

These suede loafers? 1995. The leather pants? They’re my oldest and they still (just) fit... 2020. The cashmere knit? 2021. I always buy knits in the larger size so I can get more years out of them.

Why do we worry if something is in or out? If it fits beautifully, has been cared for and you love it... you wear it. Do you agree?

Maybe that’s old-fashioned. Maybe it’s out of step with how we’re supposed to consume now ... quickly, constantly, on trend.

But I’ve made peace with being out of step... and I’m really enjoying it. 🖤

Red Lipstick: A Brief History ...

Red lipstick has been around for a squillion years. Ancient Egyptians crushed beetles and ants to make it and Cleopatra wore it a lot.
Queen Elizabeth I loved it.
Suffragettes wore it as an act of defiance and Hollywood stars made it iconic.

Today? It still does what it’s always done.
One swipe and total transformation.

I’m wearing Trinny London’s Just Joyous - a shade that works for every occasion. Walking the dog, lunch with a lover, a photoshoot and a perfect accessory when lounging on the sofa in a silk dressing gown.

Red lipstick isn’t about perfection... it’s about intention.

That’s why it’s lasted thousands of years. And why it isn’t going anywhere. 💋

Where I Did Very Little ...

Andros is the northern and second-largest island of the Cyclades, and somehow I’d never heard of it until a friend insisted I visit.

Onar sits in a gorgeous, intimate cove on the east coast.
Eighteen individual stone houses hidden away from everything, built into the landscape with simple, honest hospitality at its heart.

The drive there was precarious - narrow, winding roads that made me clench my teeth, shut my eyes and question my decision to come here.
But then I arrived and understood why.

What did I do at Onar?

I roamed and wandered the beach, the river bed and the tracks for hours.
Then I ate, sipped wine and slept... a lot.
It was just glorious.

I had no agenda or schedule, just my pace which was slow and languid.

Thank you Onar. 🤍

The Magic of Dark Sunglasses ...

There’s something about dark sunglasses that just works.

They’re cool. They’re chic. And they have this quiet magic that I simply love... every time I pop them on.
I don’t quite know how it happens but they instantly make me feel more composed.

These are KIMEZE. A luxury unisex eyewear brand, handcrafted in Italy and co-founded by two sisters, including artist Christina Kimeze.

What I love about them is the craftsmanship and the thoughtful design.
They feel distinctive without trying too hard.
Timeless without being boring.

Dark sunglasses do something heels and lipstick can’t.
They give you a little mystery. A little armour.
A little “I’m handling this” even when you’re not entirely sure you are.

That’s the magic. 🖤

Femininity: Soft and Strong

Femininity pops up often in my mind. It’s something I’m conscious of and want to explore.

Why do some women embrace it? Why do some push back? Does it have a place in today’s world?

For me, femininity isn’t about being delicate, fragile or submissive. It’s not a pretty frock and heels. It’s about embracing both the softness and the strength that exist together.

I can be kind and fierce. Gentle and determined. Nurturing and unapologetic.

The two aren’t opposites. They’re a balance. And I think that balance is worth protecting.

I admire women who do the same—who navigate hardship, hold high positions, face challenges—and still honour the feminine within themselves. Not as a weakness. As a choice.

Perhaps that’s controversial. Perhaps some will say femininity is outdated, irrelevant, even dangerous in a world that often demands we harden ourselves to survive.

But I don’t believe we have to choose between strength and softness. We can be both. We are both.

And I think that’s worth treasuring. 💗

A huge thank you to for insisting I wear a pink gown—despite it being my least favourite colour to wear. By the end of the photoshoot, I was reluctant to take it off and give it back!

What Working with a Friend Looks Like ...

This is Joseph. We’ve been friends for years and we collaborate on projects together.
Sometimes that means filming etiquette content for . Sometimes it means showing up as each other’s plus-one when the occasion calls for it. Mostly it means behaving like siblings.

This reel? We spent an hour pretending to have serious conversations about body language and connection. And then we collapsed laughing because filming yourself talking about eye contact while sitting on a very serious bench is absurd.

The final result is actually quite good. You can watch it over at .

Creative partnerships like this are rare. I’m lucky to have one. 🖤

Tomorrow Is My Birthday ...

And I won’t be announcing my age.

Quite frankly, I’m a little tired of hearing it myself.

Despite what I read and try to believe, ageing isn’t fabulous.
And being 60++++ is definitely not the best I’ve ever felt.

The best I’ve ever felt? Giving birth to my daughter 21 years ago.

Sixteen hours of labour, then an epidural. Those were the best 16 hours I’ve ever had.
I’m absolutely serious. And I know nothing will beat that. I loved every moment!

So back to birthdays ... they are what they are.

And ageing ... is what it is.

And I’ll make the most of both.
Happy Birthday to me. 🥂

The universal language of respect ...

Morocco taught me something I already knew but had forgotten to name:

My daughter and I spent days with people who didn’t speak a word of English. We didn’t speak Arabic. Yet we connected deeply through gestures, expressions, laughter, shared meals and genuine warmth.

The hospitality we received was extraordinary. Fresh mint tea offered with pride. Invitations into homes. Conversations that happened entirely through smiles and hand movements. Moments where language didn’t matter because the respect and kindness were unmistakable.

Cultural differences didn’t stand in our way. They deepened the connection.
Because we both understood something fundamental - respect doesn’t need translation.

A smile means welcome everywhere. A gesture of offering means generosity.
Eye contact means “I see you.”
Touch means “you matter.”

These people - whose names we couldn’t pronounce, whose language we couldn’t speak, showed us what true respect looks like.

It’s about showing up with an open heart and treating every person you meet as worthy of your attention, your respect, your genuine presence.

The Langham Sydney ... Pup Friendly and My Escape

Some hotels tolerate dogs. ... The Langham Sydney welcomes them.

Bobbi has her own bed, her own treats and the kind of attention that makes her think she owns the place.

And me? I have my favourite corner for afternoon tea, a lobby that never fails to make me feel elegant and staff who remember my name ... and hers.

It’s the perfect place for ‘Bobbi Time’ or ‘Me Time’.
