Your headpiece isn’t 💩 - you’re probably just wearing it wrong! If you need help, try these tips…

1. Most perchers sit ON the forehead, if yours doesn’t look right tip it forward more to sit just above your eyebrows. To stop it from slipping, use criss crossed Bobby pins to create an anchor point for the comb if you have thin or clean hair.
2. Tie a knot to shorten the elastic so it’s firm and doesn’t wobble. Always wear the elastic BEHIND your head, NOT under your chin 😬
3. Angles create the illusion of height and drama. A slight tilt can make all the difference! Experiment in the mirror, usually 45 degrees is a good angle to start with.

You might disagree with with this, but dark hair with a blonde elastic (or vice versa) is not a vibe 👎🏻

Will you win or lose a a sash because of it? Probably not!

Am I the hat police, NO! But in my opinion, an inconspicuous hair elastic or headband is part of good FOTF ‘grooming and deportment’… here’s some tried and tested tips you can use to fix yours before Cup Day 🐎 🥰🥰🥰

Some headpieces are a disaster story, others have a happy ending - this one is both!!!

I literally cried twice over this hat!!!

First when I put a hole in the brim 💀

And then again when Milano won $10,000 wearing it 🎉

This hat didn’t just come together. There was a whole lot of testing, failed ideas, problem-solving and questioning my career choices 😆🫣🙄

Winning isn’t everything, but it certainly makes all those tears and mistakes feel worth it.

I’m mostly inspired by art/sculptures, geometry and shapes in nature. I draw on a combination of these when creating my own designs. If it’s striking, bold and unique, I’m all for it… and probably thinking about it at 3am 😂😂😂
