Muchas personas que conozco y quiero tuvieron que ocultar su verdadera identidad durante años por miedo a no ser aceptadas. Incluso aquí en Canadá, donde se celebra la diversidad y la inclusión, es difícil para los estudiantes en el sistema escolar darse cuenta y aceptar quiénes son realmente. Hi everyone! I’m Giovanna, the owner of GEMMAS. I come from Peru, a country where the LGBTQ community is still fighting for its rights. Many people I know and love had to hide their true identities for years due to fear of not being accepted. Even here in Canada, where diversity and inclusion are celebrated, it is difficult for students in the school system to realize and embrace who they really are.
