A Hidden Gem in Durham Region 📍✨

Some places leave you speechless—and Camp 30 is one of them. Walking through this historic site felt like stepping back in time. The architecture, the atmosphere, and the character of the buildings make it a truly unforgettable place. It’s a reminder that Durham Region is home to remarkable stories and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.

Originally built as the Bowmanville Boys Training School, Camp 30 later became one of Canada’s most significant Second World War prisoner-of-war camps. Today, it stands as an important piece of Canadian history and a symbol of our shared heritage.

We believe places like Camp 30 deserve to be celebrated, protected, and shared with future generations. They are more than historic landmarks—they are part of the identity and culture that make Durham Region so unique.
