The simple process of upcycling.

This jacket used to be a sleeping bag.
We walked along a southern coastline and didn‘t say a word.

MAKING WEARABLE SLEEPING BAG
It’s been a while since we shot a making-of video, but we had this great idea that we really wanted to share with you... a wearable dream made of fluff that has come true. :)

To make this happen, Elisa designed a new raglan pattern that had to fit the typical shape of most sleeping bags and take into account that the zip is already integrated into the sleeping bag. This meant that Elisa had to find exactly the right measurements and proportions so that we could use the material as efficiently as possible. Elisa also came up with a super clever and simple system that allows the model to be adapted to almost all sizes and body shapes (as long as there is enough material) by changing only one part of the pattern, which (in my opinion) is pretty sick!

Here are some details about the material we saved with this upcycling method - The total weight of the sleeping bags was 800g. The total weight of the upcycled jacket is now 500g and we have collected 300g of leftover material. This means that we saved and reused 2/3 of valuable resources of the original old sleeping bag. Through this practice, we not only save resources, but also increase the value of the product and extend its life time :)

Let us know what you think of this concept in the comments.

If you have a sleeping bag and would like to learn how to upcycle it, you can send us a direct message.

EDO Drop 2025 in 2026??
Somehow, we missed the opportunity to properly release our EDO 2025 collection. I guess life got in the way…

Elisa and I had to find new jobs mid of 2025 to survive and pay all the bills. Elisa at some point had to do three jobs. From 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., she worked at her new main job as a bicycle courier. After a break, a nap and therapy, she often worked a few more hours for EDO or made prototypes and designs for one of our B2B customers. I worked as a sales assistant in a streetwear shop in Kreuzberg. There were moments when we thought we couldn’t continue with EDO. I worked three days a week in the clothing store – before and after my shift, I answered emails or packed orders from our online shop. There was simply too little time and so many things to do that we couldn’t keep up with all the tasks, so we somehow lost sight of the collection we had originally designed for 2025 and you didn’t hear from us for weeks... We had to make changes, find a subtenant for our studio to reduce rental costs and stabilise our income.

For me, the last edition in 2025 was really one of the greatest editions we ever made, and I still think it’s beautiful. Being an independent brand also means that we don’t have to follow trends, seasons or schedules. We can do what we want, when we want. And when you think about trends and seasons, it’s all just made up to sell us more and more stuff.

For us, it feels like we don’t want to be part of this capitalist fast fashion game. Yes, we want to create and make beautiful things and share them with you and we also want to give you the means to make them yourself. So we’re planning more workshops and we have a bunch of great new upcycling projects up our sleeves that we want to launch in 2026 :)

Somehow we managed to keep going, and life happens again, we are back on track with EDO, with new B2B customers, new projects and new energy. So here we go with our 2025 collection in 2026 :)

Yesterday was one of those days that really reminds me why I love doing workshops.
An intense 9-hour session of designing and making your own hoodie from scratch and it’s honestly crazy how much can happen in that short amount of time when people fully commit to the process and focus on one thing!

There’s something soo special about watching an idea slowly turn into something real. Choosing the fabric, making decisions, cutting, sewing, messing up a little, fixing it again… and then suddenly you’re wearing a piece that didn’t exist in the morning.

Big respect to and — you two seriously impressed me. No sewing experience at all, but so much intuition, patience and a really strong sense of style. You picked things up super fast, stayed focused the whole day, and trusted your own taste instead of playing it safe.

And the result speaks for itself: two unique hoodies that feel personal and really good.
I’m proud of you guys.

If anyone wants to book a session and create your own Hoodie, please feel free to send us a DM :)

UPCYCLING A SLEEPING BAG    Do you know that feeling on a freezing winter morning when you don’t want to leave your bed?...

UPCYCLING A SLEEPING BAG
Do you know that feeling on a freezing winter morning when you don’t want to leave your bed? And when you do, do you want to stay wrapped up in your blanket all day long?
Or when you wake up early while camping and everything is damp, and you only open the zipper of your sleeping bag enough to squeeze your feet out, your bare soles touching the cold, wet grass while the rest of your body stays warm and cozy in the sleeping bag?

To make it happen, Elisa created a new raglan pattern that works with the shape of different sleeping bags, taking into account the zipper that is already incorporated into the bag, while using the material as efficiently as possible. She came up with a super smart and stylish system that allows us to easily adjust the size to fit many body types and sleeping bag sizes by adapting just one part of the pattern, which I think is genius.

Total weight of the sleeping bags was: 800g
Total weight of the jacket is: 550
Total weight of the leftover is: 250

Developing Time: 1,5 days
Cut & Sew: 1 day

Intrested in a workshop or shall we upcycle your old sleeping bags?

HOODIE WORKSHOP by EDO
Design and sew your own hoodie: individual, experimental, and far away from mass production.

In this workshop you’ll create a custom hoodie with a boxy fit, made from elastic fleece or French terry, while learning both basic sewing skills and simple, hands-on methods to develop your own design language. The focus is on creating something personal, learning by doing, and getting professional guidance throughout the process.

We’ll work with simple creative tools to help you shape your hoodie design, and you’ll build a unique all-over pattern using your sewing machine. You’ll also learn how to adjust fit, proportions and details to your body and preferences. There will be plenty of space for experimentation, questions, and exchange.

Material
You’ll need elastic fleece or French terry (approx. 2 m, slightly elastic recommended). You can bring your own fabric or order fleece from Extremtextil. You can also use leftover fabrics, second-hand materials, or go to local market places or fabric stores in Berlin. If you’re unsure what to choose, just send me a DM.

Experience/ Level
Basic sewing machine experience is helpful, but not required — I’ll guide you and support you whenever needed. You will manage but it can be difficult ;)

When: 25.01.2026, 2–8 pm
Where: EDO Studio, Mittenwalder Str. 60, 10961 Berlin
Duration: 4–6 hours
Fee: 90–140 € (sliding scale depending on your financial situation)
Spots: max. 4 participants

This last shoot has reminded us once again how fortunate we are to be surrounded by people who contribute to and support our work.

Over the years, we have met some truly impressive individuals. Working with little or no budget meant collaborating with real people from local neighbourhoods and wider networks.

By sharing skills, exchanging goods and ideas and forming genuine connections, we were able to achieve things that would not otherwise have been possible independently.

EDO is a community effort. Thank you all so much. 🤍

Embroidery workshop at EDO
Sunday, 2nd November 2025 | 3–6 PM
In collaboration with and

This workshop grew from the seed -
How can we can bring our initiatives together in support of Palestine?

How can we meet at the roots of resistance? Against fast fashion, oppression and disconnection from land and craft.

We resist by gathering, creating with our hands and hearts, reclaiming the act of making as a form of soft power.

This workshop is an afternoon of inviting slowness and defiance to remember the strength we find in community.

We’ll meet in the EDO studio in Kreuzberg.

You’ll get an Introduction to cultural heritage, ecology & Palestinian symbolism. Choose a garment from EDO’s ethical hoodies, tees or socks for a special community rate on the day. Choose a motif and symbol of solidarity, we will provide templates or you create your own.

We’ll learn tatreez, Palestinian embroidery and guide you step by step to embroider your motif onto your garment.

Workshop fee: €20 (includes all workshop materials and equipment, plus plenty of knowledge and experience to support you embroidering your own clothes).
Choose from EDO Textiles: €10 - €50
Donations: give what you can

All donations will support the .of.resilience initiaitve, who are working in North G@za to revive destructed lands and restore food sovereignty by planting seedlings and community-grown food systems amidst the blockade.

We have capacity for 12 people.
Message to register your spot.

We can’t wait to create this day with you.
