Two cities. One process.
Berlin, where the design takes shape. Jaipur, where skilled hands make it real — through embroidery, block printing, hand-woven cloth.

This is where ÏMAIMA comes from.

Every collection leaves something behind.

Fabric from the sampling process — offcuts, test prints, pieces that were never meant to become anything. We kept them anyway.
A bag. Made in Berlin. From what was already here.
No new material. Only a limited number exist — the quantity is decided by what the fabric allows, not by us.

Before you buy anything new — read this.

Take the last piece of clothing you bought. Divide the price by the number of times you've worn it.
That number is its real cost.
A €30 top worn twice: €15 per wear.
A €150 dress worn 40 times: €3.75 per wear.
The cheap piece is rarely the affordable one.
Now go through your wardrobe with that number in mind. The pieces with the lowest cost per wear are your most valuable ones. Wear them more. Style them differently. Let them finish the job they started.

And before you add something new — ask yourself honestly: will I wear this 30 times?

If the answer is yes, it's worth it.
If the answer is maybe, it isn't.

The SAMIRA Dress is minimal by design. Difficult by necessity.
Hand-woven cotton. No stretch. A silhouette that had to fit without showing its work.
Every dart hidden — stitched into the side seam, the back seam. The outside stays clean because the inside carries everything.
That is what minimalism actually requires. Not less work. More precise work.

Jaipur, 2017.
My first time in India.

I was developing the very first ÏMAIMA size chart — trying to translate European (German) sizing into a completely different system, sitting with local mannequin makers, explaining why the right mannequin mattered so much when our customers were in Europe.

It wasn’t easy.
Indian mannequin sizes were so different.
Every detail felt heavy — because every detail mattered.

In the middle of our conversation, the electricity went off.
The factory went completely dark.
We didn’t stop. We stayed. We kept working.

I often come back to moments like this.
They remind me that ÏMAIMA was built far away from comfort,
through conversations, misunderstandings, patience —
and a lot of trust.

If you’ve been following ÏMAIMA for a while,
I’d love to know:
Were you already here back then — or did you discover us later?
