Some places just feel like the perfect backdrop.

I took the Pacific Dusk tote with me to the Cantabrian coast, and I couldn’t resist stopping for a photo. The deep navy canvas, ocean blues and vibrant coral piping seem to belong by the sea.

Sometimes the best product photos aren’t planned, they happen while you’re making memories.

The first piece from the Horizon Tote Collection is complete.

Introducing: Pacific Dusk.

Inspired by the meeting of land, sea and sky, the Horizon Collection celebrates colour, movement and the landscapes that shape our journeys. Each design is carefully handmade, with every colour thoughtfully chosen to reflect a different moment in nature.

This photograph feels particularly special to me. The bag is photographed on one of the final piece of furniture I restored before returning to my passion for textiles and launching Jenko and is a quiet reminder of where this journey began.

There’s still more to make before the collection is ready, but seeing the first finished piece makes everything feel that little bit more real.

As Jenko gets closer to launch, I thought I’d share a little about where the inspiration began.

When I was in my mid 20’s I spent a year travelling around the world. It was one of the most influential experiences of my life, introducing me to new places, landscapes and colours that have stayed with me ever since.

I’ve always been fascinated by the way a place can evoke a feeling through colour and atmosphere. Whether it’s the deep blues of the ocean, the changing light on a coastal path or the colours of a distant horizon, those moments have continued to inspire my creative work.

This photograph was taken during a trip to Devon in 2020 and captures many of the colours and landscapes that continue to influence Jenko today.

Many years later, that love of travel, colour and thoughtful design has become part of the foundation of Jenko, a contemporary accessories brand inspired by coastal landscapes and everyday journeys.

The last few days of heat have slowed the studio down a little, but the colours of the collection somehow feel even more fitting in this weather.

Soft blues, washed coastal tones, sunset shades, and long summer light.
