This old bell once belonged to the nearby church before being rescued when the building was converted into an Airbnb. Today, it stands high above Lagavulin at the old lookout point, where locals once watched for the exciseman during Islay’s illicit distilling days.

Most distilleries buy their barley, Kilchoman Distillery grows its own.
From field to floor maltings to bottle, Kilchoman is one of the few distilleries in Scotland creating whisky entirely on site. A true farm distillery and one of Islay’s most special places.
We visit it on our 4 and 5 day Islay tours, as well as on our private whisky tours.
