1st September. HOW did that happen?! 😂

Wasn’t it about five minutes ago we were breaking up for six glorious weeks and thinking, “Ahhh, loads of time…”?
And now we’re back to school uniforms, PE kits, packed lunches, alarm clocks and shouting, “HAS ANYONE SEEN YOUR OTHER SHOE?!” at an unreasonable hour of the morning. 🤦‍♀️😂

The kids have somehow grown three inches, nothing fits, Barney of course cant remember where his school bag is and I’m not entirely sure I’m ready for the morning routine again.
But here we are. September. Back to school. Back to routine. Back to normality… whatever that is.

Summer, you went FAR too quickly. ☀️

Good luck to all the parents getting them out of the door this week. May your coffee be strong and your children actually bring home the water bottles you spent a small fortune on. 😂

And once they’re safely back through those school gates… perhaps it’s finally time to sort your spex out? 😉👓

Happy weekend 🙌

And as if by magic I’m now home and ordering new glasses 🤩

I did my very best to switch off, which as a self-employed woman is apparently a skill I have yet to master 🫣….getting better at it though thanks to the EarPod thief!

But while I was away, the MODS diary was very much OPEN which is one of the reasons I arrived home yesterday at 3.45am and was styling at 10am.

(I gave myself a short day though as I was seriously flagging by 2pm 🥱)

I came on holiday with a playlist full of mindset, self-help and inspiring audios With the intention of learning more, getting ‘better’ and returning home more powerful!

So I lost my iPods on day one 😡.

Damn…….not!

I mean it’s not great that I lost my iPods but it gave me the opportunity to totally switch off and be in this very moment.

Swim, drink and play rummy.

I’m returning home tomorrow with all the self help I needed…a true break.
Amazing memories, new holiday friends and an extra few pounds (ok maybe this bit isn’t so welcome).

Sometimes the help we need is zero just being free from ‘doing’ and going with the flow and the next cocktail.

Yesterday, the world lost the utterly irreplaceable Dolly Parton.

I wasn’t a massive fan, I didn’t know everything about her, but I always admired the way she embraced exactly who she was.
Colourful, confident, kind and completely unapologetic….everything MODS 🥳

Thank you for the music, the sparkle and the reminder to be ourselves, on purpose.

Today we have been celebrating what almost 17 years of hard work looks like. Polly smashed her GCSE’s with amazing grade...

Today we have been celebrating what almost 17 years of hard work looks like.

Polly smashed her GCSE’s with amazing grades but she knows those numbers never mattered to us. Although I’m delighted for her that she saw them.

The hardest working person I’ve ever known, genuinely.
100% committed to everything she does with a work ethic that scares me.
It’s never been a case of pushy parents, in fact I’m the mum who begs her to close her books and STOP.
Something I’ve realised she doesn’t do well.
That bit is scary.

She’s managed to study herself silly whilst dancing 4 nights a week as well. No extra tuition (saving us a small fortune) but 100% her own doing.
Organised, responsible and on it!

Polly we could not be prouder today and everyday. You deserve the world kid.

Now to top up that tan 🥳

The Home of Your Eyewear Experience

There’s something that happens when you find a space that actually feels like it was made for you. Not just functional, not just fine, but genuinely yours.

That’s what I wanted MODS to be. A place where you bring your prescription, your personality and possibly a list of all the glasses you’ve been talked out of over the years, and we work through it together properly. No rushing, no pressure, just a good brew and real conversation about what actually suits you, what colours light you up and what your glasses could be doing for you that they currently aren’t.

A lot of people have spent years being pointed towards the safe option. I get it….boring and careless.
But safe isn’t always right, and right is so much more interesting.
