The School Shop The business was originally started as The Hyde Road Sports Ground by Geoff & Elsie Young in 1935 from their home in Shanklin.

Established in 1955 The Sports Shop & Toymaster is the original and largest sports & toy retailer on the Isle o

f Wight. They had Tennis Courts, a Pitch & Putt course and a Table Tennis room. They then started selling rackets and operating a re-stringing service until 1955 when they purchased a house in Regent Street, this was then converted into The Sports Shop. Over the years the two adjoining houses came up for sale and were purchased by Geoff and Elsie and so the business as it is today was born. In the early 1970’s Geoff and Elsie retired and their son Nigel took over the running of the business with his wife Janet. The business now consists of two shops,one in Shanklin & one in Ryde, including the Isle of Wight's largest selection of toys under the Toymaster banner.

Medina College parents.

At The School Shop we try to keep all sizes of all uniform in stock. With 4 changing rooms, you can try it all on and take it away the same day. No need to pre-order and wait.
You can also order on our website iwuniform.co.uk either click & collect or home delivery.
We are currently running at around 90% of all sizes of all uniform in stock. But don't leave it until the end of the holidays as some sizes sell out and we can't guarantee we can get them back in before schools start back in September!
We offer appointments on our website iwuniform.co.uk so you get a changing room and staff member to help you.
