Oh, sorry, don’t mind me - just an average Friday evening hanging out in Norfolk with 🤷‍♀️
Turns out Patrick is using a team of Norfolk knitters for a new range of jumpers for his very excellent Community Clothing and Sheringham Museum’s collection of fishermen’s ganseys provided the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot. Patrick managed to fit in a book signing and spoke so eloquently about textiles, fashion and clothing and the importance of sustainability not only for the environment, but for creating jobs and financial security for local communities.
So much of what he said struck a cord with why I’ve been pushing forward with a focus on vintage clothing. Just a small effort in my little corner of the world to make it easier to choose preloved and secondhand from a time when nearly every label said ‘Made in England’ and every garment was made to be worn season after season before being handed down or repurposed.
Having a job that relies on people buying more when actually you believe in consuming less troubles me on a daily basis, but Patrick reminded me that if we can encourage people to buy better where they can, we are headed in the right direction.
Anyway, gold star for you if you made it this far without swiping right and zooming in to see if he really is that handsome in real life. Reader, he is. Apologies to Donna who I did dirty in this pic as I was a little giddy and not on my selfie A game. Patrick has promised to come and visit us Williams & Parfitt next time he’s in Norfolk anyway. Maybe. Probably…

I guarantee this will be a love it or hate it! 👍🏻👎🏻Either way, they’re getting as rare as hen’s teeth. I didn’t get a chance to get proper pics, but it’s at Williams & Parfitt if you want to ogle/say ‘I remember these’/toggle through the different bulb settings etc 💚
