We were delighted to host The Open Door Experience at as part of FAM trip for U.S. travel designers, delivered in collaboration with The Calliope Collective and .

Set within one of Ireland’s most iconic hospitality destinations, the experience welcomed guests from across the United States for an intimate “Meet the Maker” workshop inspired by the heritage of master saddler Ted Carbery and the craft behind TED 1942

Together, we explored traditional leatherworking techniques and created personalised travel pieces — offering a meaningful connection to Irish craftsmanship and storytelling as part of a thoughtfully curated journey through Ireland.

House of TED 1942 – The Open Door Experience

Last Friday we opened our door.

The Open Door Experience is our way of inviting partners, collaborators and friends into the world of TED 1942 — to discover the story, the craftsmanship and the heritage behind every piece we create.

Guests experienced traditional leathercraft firsthand, learning the art of saddle stitching and creating their own personalised leather travel tag — a small piece of Irish craftsmanship made by their own hands.

This experience was also a beautiful reminder that great things happen when people come together.

A very special thank you to whose incredible generosity and belief in bringing people together helped make this gathering possible. She is a true example of women supporting women, creating connections and opportunities that lift others.
