Celebrating 60 Years of Emerald Dry Cleaners 🎊

This week marks a very special milestone as we proudly celebrate 60 years in business.
Emerald Dry Cleaners was founded in 1966 by Mick and Biddy Caulfield, originally operating from Priory Street before relocating a few years later to Quay Street. In 1972, Mick's brother Peter Caulfield (Pete's father) took over the business, continuing the family tradition of service and dedication.

In 1984, Pete and Deirdre Caulfield took over the reins and have proudly led the business ever since. Pete has, in fact, been working full-time in the business since 1977, giving him almost five decades of hands-on experience in the industry.

In 1999, Pete and Deirdre established Washworld, located on Michael Street in the premises (formerly known as Beryl Doyle's shop). Emerald Dry Cleaners continued to operate from Quay Street until the end of 2018, when both businesses came together under one roof on Michael Street and began trading as Cleaned 4 You, where customers can avail of free and easy parking.

Over the past six decades, we have experienced many highs and challenges, but thanks to the loyalty of our customers and the dedication of our exceptional staff—past and present—we have continued to grow and thrive.
A significant milestone in our journey came in 2025, when we invested in new machinery and transitioned our dry-cleaning process to become a fully 👕Eco Cleaning operation. This achievement reflects our commitment to both quality and environmental responsibility, and it is something we are immensely proud of.
We are also delighted to maintain a strong online presence through our website, www.cleaned4you.com⁠, where customers can explore our full range of services and easily arrange collections and deliveries.

Adding to our celebrations, Cleaned 4 You was honoured in 2024 with the prestigious 🎊Best Dry Cleaners in Ireland🎊award. This recognition would not have been possible without the hard work, professionalism, and commitment of our wonderful team, led by our Manager, Tina. We extend our sincere thanks to every member of staff for their contribution to this success.

On Friday, 26th June, as Emerald officially celebrates its 60th anniversary, we warmly invite customers, friends, former staff members, and the local community to join us in marking this remarkable occasion. We would especially love to hear your memories, stories, and see any old photographs you may have from over the years. Pete
Our master textile cleaner with over 50 years experience and our delivery man, making sure everything arrives clean, fresh, and on time — always with a smile.
Deirdre
Behind the scenes, Deirdre keeps everything organised and running smoothly so nothing is ever overlooked.

Joan
A welcoming face at the counter, Joan makes sure every customer feels comfortable and every item is carefully checked in.
Kathleen
The friendly voice on the phone and at the front desk. Kathleen is always happy to help, answer questions, and make things easy for our customers.
