In our new Spring/Summer Drop, you’ll find garments crafted from the tie-dye cotton gauzes that Coloriage produces in Mali: organic cotton fabrics folded and hand-tied, then dyed with natural pigments extracted from clays and plants.

UPCYCLING WORKSHOP - Repairing and Transforming as Intercultural Practices

Deconstructing, embroidering, repairing - turning existing garments and materials into unique one of a kind pieces through upcycling techniques and a dialogue between different cultures, styles, and textiles. Each student developed a personal upcycling project under the guidance of Coloriage Professor Anthony Knight and assistant Fara Deme, who arrived in Italy from Senegal only four years ago and has since built an outstanding path.

Outside of time and space: Idroscalo could be in the 1940s as in the 2020s, in Dakar, Senegal as in Ostia, Italy.

It is this spatial and temporal short circuit that we seek in our garments, combining unsold stock fabrics from Italian high fashion with batiks from the South; minimalist design with the maximalism of prints and hand-painted cottons from West Africa; the upcycling of vintage garments with contemporary cuts and traditional tie-dye techniques.

Coloriage presents its new Spring/Summer 2026 campaign: IDROSCALO.

Built during the colonial era to connect Rome with the North African coasts, the Idroscalo was abandoned after only two years due to the cyclical erosion of the shoreline. Claimed back by the sea and the wind, it has remained until today a place of spontaneous settlement for local and migrant communities, recently described as « the last suburb of Rome. »
