Everyone we deal with is a-symmetric… and everything a-symmetric is magnified when you fatigue.
Here we have a New Balance 860 V15, (size 15 4E), so we’re talking about a very tall an solidly built runner. He runs many marathons and halves per year, and the slower the run, the more heel wear.
As you can see the shoe on the Left has far more heel wear - and this is after about 200km. This isn’t a shoe quality issue, it’s an a-symmetrical issue.
So what we’ve done is help out by layering liquid rubber onto the area to even out the heel wear, and probably this will be repeated in another 200-300km.
So if your shoes are consistently showing uneven wear - you know why.
Don’t just throw them either, get ‘crafty’ and try a repair… get the most out of your investment…
