Most of you will know Sam, as she has been an integral part of Urban Threads for the past 7 years. And if you haven't heard, she is having a baby! 🤱🤩💜 The time is fast approaching and her last day with us will be Tuesday 16 June. If you want to pop in to wish her well, please do. NOTE: We will be closed from 12:30 - 1:30 on the 16th June to celebrate Sam and her exciting new adventures.

As we move into winter, here is an update of our hours starting Monday 8th June. We'll be finishing at 5pm during the week instead of 5:30 but we are reinstating the late finish on Thursday, so you'll have another option outside office hours. If you are coming in for a formal/ ball dress or a a complex restyle, please phone or text to make an appointment with one of our senior sewers. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you 🪡🧵👖👕🧵🪡

UPDATE TIME: I thought it was about time I introduced myself to you! I'm Jo, the new owner of Urban Threads. I took over on the 1st April and have really enjoyed meeting many of you already. I live in Ilam with my husband Kevin, and our two cute (but naughty) schnauzers, Stella and Sparky. In my spare time I love to do just about anything creative or go windsurfing in the gnarly Christchurch easterly.

You may notice a few small changes at the shop; like we have flipped the changing rooms, to give us more sewing space out back. That means we only have one front door now (instead of two!!)

But one thing that is still the same is we are still doing a great job of all your alterations needs and Janet and Sam are still here making that happen.

I look forward to seeing you in store soon 🤩

Sorry but due to illness we are only able to do limited service this afternoon including pick ups (if we’ve told you the garment is ready) We should be back in action from tomorrow with the shop open from 10-1. Sorry for any inconvenience.

From the 1st of April, Urban Threads will be entering a new chapter with a change of ownership - marking the end of Janet’s incredible era 💕

After 7 and a half amazing years, we just want to say a HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful customers for your continued love and support. You’ve truly been the heart of everything we’ve built here 💖
The good news is… you’re not getting rid of us just yet!

Both Janet and Sam will still be around in store, so you’ll continue to see some familiar faces 😊

Come June, Sam will be heading off on maternity leave as she gets ready to welcome her little one 👶✨

We’re so excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait for you all to be part of this next journey with Urban Threads 🖤
