Tasting the honey again… 🍯

It’s been a minute since I’ve had the pattern drafting tools out. Coco has sent me down a little path of inspiration, and I’m very much enjoying seeing where it leads ✍️📐👗

Please give a warm welcome to Coco, our newest team member. 🤍

She comes with around 2 years’ experience in a workroom, and is here to help with design, drape, fit, and the occasional modelling.

You may see her lurking down the back of the studio during fittings, but please excuse her if you catch a glimpse of her with nothing on…. She is a mannequin, after all 😜

Serious business around here 😜

With fabric shipments taking longer and longer to arrive (especially tulle for veils!), I’m getting ahead of the game and stocking up now.

This order is all about making sure we have plenty of beautiful veil options ready to go when wedding season hits.

Future me will be very grateful for this slightly obsessive fabric ordering 🤍

“But what do I do with my hands?” 🤍

One of the most common things I hear when brides are in front of the camera during their fitting — so I wanted to give them something beautiful to hold.

I’m so excited to have this gorgeous silk bouquet from Flowergirl in the studio. It’s available for brides to use during their fittings and studio photos, whether you’re practising your wedding-day pose or simply want something to hold while we chat through your alterations.

A little studio detail, but one I think will make such a difference. 🤍

When I opened the doors to this studio, I wanted the space to feel just as considered as the experience I wanted to offer.

Spacious and private, with soft surroundings and a calm, unhurried feel — somewhere you can settle in, take a breath and feel completely comfortable.

Because your fitting is more than simply making adjustments to a dress. It’s part of the journey, and I want you to enjoy being here too.

Not every veil needs to look like a veil.

There are so many beautiful ways to incorporate a little something extra into your bridal look — a sheer cape, a draped veil, a delicate shoulder piece, or something completely your own.

Bridalwear doesn’t have to follow the styles we’ve become used to seeing. Sometimes the most beautiful details are the unexpected ones.

The little details matter. 🤍

With this gown, we changed the back to a lace-up finish to give her the extra room she needed — but it’s the small details that make it look intentional and beautifully finished.

Making sure each strap crosses the same way, sits neatly and pulls evenly might seem minor, but together those little things make all the difference.

It’s not just about making a dress fit. It’s about making the alteration look like it was always meant to be there.

The past few weeks have been filled with wonderful conversations about weddings, dresses and all the little details that make each celebration unique 🤍

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many lovely couples at the recent Hitched - Manawatu Wedding Showcase and Copthorne Weddings Wairarapa expo’s and hearing about the plans you’re making for your big day.

I’ve been working my way through all of the enquiries and messages that followed — thank you for your patience while I’ve been catching up.
