From glass to marble, cork to bronze, thread to light — ECHOES brings together years of research into materials and the people who shape them.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who visited the exhibition during and shared this moment with us. Your presence helped transform the exhibition into what it was always intended to be: a space for dialogue between makers, materials, and communities.

Special thanks to for this collaboration, where tapestries and objects coexist in a shared landscape of craftsmanship and memory.

The exhibition remains open throughout the summer, and we look forward to welcoming many more visitors in the months ahead.

Thank you for being part of ECHOES.

This exhibition was conceived as a reflection on matter, craftsmanship, and the intelligence of making. Over the past days, it has also become a place of encounter — where conversations, exchanges, and shared experiences have given new meaning to the work on display.

Our gratitude goes to everyone who attended the opening, to the artisans whose knowledge lives within each piece, and to for creating this remarkable dialogue between objects and textiles.

For those who could not join us during Lisbon Design Week, ECHOES — A Practice of Matter will continue throughout the summer.

For 2026, Babled Design enters into a special dialogue with

Within the exhibition ECHOES, carefully curated tapestries accompany the works, creating a shared landscape between objects and textiles, glass and thread, form and gesture.
Together, these practices reflect a common dedication to craftsmanship, material knowledge, and the enduring value of human making.

At the heart of ECHOES — lies a dialogue between tradition and transformation.

The exhibition brings together emblematic works including the Zanzibar Chair, the Quark series, Digit, Ubuntu, Osmosi, and Azoici — pieces where glass, bronze, marble, cork, and acrylic become vessels for memory, gesture, and experimentation.

Each object carries the trace of those who shaped it, affirming a vision of design grounded in the intelligence of the hand.

Emmanuel Babled presents ECHOES — during Lisbon Design Week 2026.

Hosted at Gallery in Lisbon, the exhibition brings together a retrospective of limited editions shaped through encounters between materials, territories, and the hands that give them form.

Across glass, marble, bronze, cork, wood, and acrylic, the works reflect an ongoing commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and a way of making rooted in collaboration and material research.

In Lithos, matter itself becomes language.

Reactive mineral powders introduced into molten glass create bubbles and cavities that remain suspended within the material, forming irregular surfaces reminiscent of sedimented geological formations.

Balancing experimentation with formal clarity, the collection reflects a continuous dialogue between technique, transformation, and craftsmanship.

We are deeply grateful to for this collaboration and for the opportunity to share a common vision rooted in research, materiality, and the enduring excellence of Murano glassmaking.

With Lithos, glass acquires a stone-like presence.

Inspired by Ercole Barovier’s pioneering research into material inclusions within molten glass, the collection transforms incandescent matter into compact forms crossed by textures, tensions, and trapped air.

Integrated optical lenses reveal hidden depths within each vase, amplifying the visual complexity of the material and turning every piece into a tactile and luminous fragment.

A special thank you to for their trust, collaboration, and extraordinary mastery in bringing this project to life.

Lithos, by Emmanuel Babled in collaboration with

Lithos reimagines glass as a geological matter — dense, stratified, and alive with internal tensions.

Created in collaboration with Barovier & Toso, the collection explores a new material language where molten glass becomes stone-like, marked by bubbles, cavities, and layered textures generated through chemical transformation.
Each piece emerges as a unique landscape shaped by fire, reaction, and precise craftsmanship.

Our sincere thanks to Barovier & Toso for this meaningful collaboration and the opportunity to continue exploring the expressive possibilities of glass together.

A new silver iteration of the Quark Side Table 1 Element.

Inspired by the fundamental particles that compose matter itself, the Quark series explores how form can shift through material, reflection, and finish.

Here, the mirrored surface creates an optical mirage — dissolving volume into light and transforming the table into a constantly changing presence within space.

The piece will be presented during Lisbon Design Week 2026 (27-31 may) in our exhibition at the gallery of Tapeçarias de Portalegre, marking a special collaboration between our practices of craftsmanship and material exploration.

The iconic Quark Side Table 1 Element returns through new material expressions.

Bronze transforms the piece into a dense, tactile monolith — where light softly grazes textured surfaces and reveals the depth of the material.

Part of the ongoing Quark series, each edition explores the dialogue between matter, craftsmanship, and technology, giving form to objects that appear both sculptural and elemental.

This piece will be showcased during Lisbon Design Week 2026 (27-31 may) in our exhibition at the gallery of Tapeçarias de Portalegre, with whom we are proud to collaborate for this event.
