Our first honest mistake: we spent too long looking for something we already had.

When we started building Eighth Hour, we tested everything: blends, recycled fibres, cottons, linens. Every fabric has its place, and each one taught us something. But for these pieces, we kept coming back to the same answer.

Silk gave us what nothing else could, all at once: drape, softness, strength and breathability, with a quiet refinement that doesn’t need embellishment. It works across climates, ages beautifully, and stays lovely through years of wear with the right care.

Why tell you about the detour? Because you’re a big part of what we’re building, and we’d rather show you the whole journey than just the destination. The time we spent testing wasn’t wasted. It’s why we’re so sure about silk now.

A vest sounds simple enough. Getting every detail right takes a little more thought.

For our Silk Pintuck Vest, we wanted a piece that feels easy to wear while holding its shape. We selected specific weights of Crepe de Chine for the outer fabric and lining, and reinforced the pintucks along the side panels to give the fit its structure.

The colours felt like the natural choice. Colours that works across seasons, pairs with almost anything, and feels just as at home at an occasion as it does on an ordinary day. The pintucks bring a distinctive Eighth Hour detail to an otherwise clean silhouette. The result is a piece that can stand on its own, work with your existing wardrobe, or be dressed up when the occasion calls for it.

Sometimes, the simplest pieces ask the most of their design.

At the London Fashion Show, we presented 33 styles. We're opening pre-orders for seven.

We designed Eighth Hour for the woman whose day rarely ends where it begins. Work, family, travel, an evening occasion: her wardrobe needs to move with her.

But when women began trying on our pieces, they started imagining them in places we hadn’t fully anticipated. Mothers of the bride, bridesmaids, brides-to-be planning their pre-wedding celebrations. Some even spoke about a “Month of White.”

What they loved was the possibility of wearing a piece for a special occasion, then bringing it back into their everyday wardrobe with a different pair of shoes or a favourite jacket. We designed for versatility. Hearing women imagine their own ways to wear the collection showed us just how far that idea could go.

Before designing our Essentials collection, we spoke to women across professions, generations and parts of the world to understand what they actually reach for, what they wear on repeat, and what earns a lasting place in their wardrobes.
