It's been a while since I showed a before & after and this one is a great example!

This bride's dress fit her great through the hips and waist but the bust was far too large. This is quite a common issue when it comes to dress sizing as our bodies don't tend to match the designer's model body profile, which is where alterations come in for the win!

If your dress comes in and looks like this, here's what you need to know:
1. Don't panic! If you've got a good bridal seamstress booked, they'll know how to get your dress fitting beautifully.
2. Be prepared to have multiple fittings. Trust the process!
3. Be realistic with your alterations budget. Not everyone can do this type of work so be prepared to pay for the skill level this requires.

For 2026, my schedule is fully booked for all brides and I am no longer accepting wedding dress alterations for 2026 weddings.

Working with Kayla on her wedding dress was such a blast for so many reasons!

✨ We went to high school together, so it was fun catching up.

✨ She had a vision for her dress that included one of my favorite things... pockets! (Because who doesn't love a wedding dress with pockets?)

✨ And the sweetest bonus? I got to meet her daughter and alter her dress too. Seeing them dressed up together was such a special part of the experience.

One of my favorite parts of this job is that every bride brings something different to the fitting room.

When Alyssa first reached out, she had a unique request. A coworker's bad wedding dress alterations experience somewhere else had understandably left her feeling nervous. So, she wanted to start the alterations process earlier than I typically recommend.

Almost every good decision I’ve made in my business felt scary at first.

There's a loud voice in my head that asks "are you sure about this?” many MANY times.

But once I make the decision, things get better. I create better systems, easier processes for clients and a business that feels more aligned with how I actually want to work.

And right now? I'm in the middle of the biggest change!

It's not anything I expected to do or planned for but now that I'm getting over the scaries about it, I'm really excited to share what's happening with you soon so stayed tune!

If you've got great legs (or cute socks) and want to show them off by adding a slit, let's do it!

This dress was a great candidate for a slit as there was already a seam at the ideal stopping point and just two layers to work with.

If you're considering adding a slit to a dress, make sure to go with a professional! Not everyone can (or wants) to do this work on dresses and there are different ways to do the work depending on the dress so you want to make sure you're on board with the finished look before making this change.

Take a look at that button back...now take a closer look.

Those gorgeous buttons were all sewn on by me!

Originally the buttons stopped at the end of the zipper on this dress creating an obvious visual breakpoint the bride didn't love. With the help of the bridal store in getting the custom buttons ordered and my sewing skills, this bride got the dress of her dreams!
