simple and uses common household items.
Ingredients:
Liquid dish soap
Baking soda
An old toothbrush
Instructions:
Blot First: Gently blot the stain with a paper towel to remove any excess oil. Do not rub it, as this can spread the stain.
Apply Baking Soda: Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda directly onto the stain to absorb the oil. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes. The baking soda will turn a bit clumpy as it soaks up the grease.
Add Dish Soap: Brush off the baking soda. Apply a small amount of liquid dish soap to the stain and work it in with the toothbrush, creating a lather.
Wash: Launder the garment as you normally would, using the hottest water temperature safe for the fabric. Do not put the item in the dryer until the stain is completely gone.
Tips:
For a fresh stain, cornstarch or baby powder also works well to absorb the oil.
Check the stain before putting the garment in the dryer, as the heat can permanently set the stain.
You may need to repeat the process more than once for older or more severe stains.
