This place came highly regarded on a recommendation. But now we’re questioning said judgment.

What we tried:

🌮 Trompo (pork) - was okay

🌮 Lengua (beef tongue) - didn’t enjoy the flavor

🌮 Gringa (pork and cheese) - also just okay

🌮 Qeusabirria w Consomé - wasn’t the worst we’ve ever tried but not something we’d seek out

Bill for 3 tacos + 3 quesabirria tacos y consomé +2 sodas + 1 water = $30. They do have lots of great weekly specials if this place is your jam.

Overall..

Not Mexican approved. ❌

Torchys Tacos. “Creative, non-traditional tacos”.

Multiple locations across the US.

What we tried:
🌮 Republican: BBQ brisket

🌮 Green Chile Pork

🌮 Baja Shrimp (our favorite)

🌮 Wrangler: breakfast brisket

🌮 Taco of the Month (July): The American

Total bill of tacos with 2 sodas + tax = $44

Obviously not authentic Mexican and that’s definitely not their goal either. For what it is, it was pretty good. A little above our budget as tacos averaged around a little over $5/piece, which is understandable considering how many different ingredients go into each taco.

Overall… we weren’t blow away.

Mario Bros Tacos - tucked away in a strip mall in Northeast Dallas

What we tried:
🌮 Quesabirria Tacos - Only have in a plate of three with consommé, which is usually the norm.
(shocked they had them on a weekday as it’s usually a weekend only thing at most places so far)

🌮 Trompo Taco

🌮 Torta (sandwich) - The reviews did not fail, it was massive!

Total bill with two cans of soda + tax = $38

Overall…

Mexican Approved! 🇲🇽
