Staging Design on a Nickel & Dime

Update: The columns are done! Still more to go in the dining room but progress has been made! 🎉

In between classes, work, the raising of 2 doggies, and life in general, I’m finally addressing these columns that have bugged me since we purchased this home. I love the style but just not in this cumbersome walkway. 😵‍💫 So instead of having to spend major $$$ to install an expensive support beam (to replace the columns as it holds up the bedroom above), I decided to paint the columns a dark color. I’ll be reconfiguring the dining room by bringing in a light colored rug and accessories, and will purge the room from all the extra furniture to brighten this room up and give it a facelift. Pardon all the clutter, my maid is tired, and the maid is me. 🤣 Just uploaded the pics…lol

I don’t ask, “Why?”, I just solve the problem. “Hello black masking tape, and bye bye breaker box!” 😆

Notice this thing was installed right where wall space would be needed. I could not allow this to stop me from decorating this wall properly. I’m still awaiting a space saving wall shelf I have ordered, but I’m headed in the right direction to making this wall perfect for our city apartment!
