To be honest, this COVID-19 has been a gut punch on many levels. It’s left us with shortness of breathe bent over trying to figure out what the hell happened.
It seemed like everyone had to have a response, everyone had to have programs and show their relevancy. And frankly, I was still catching my breathe (which brought on more anxiety)
As a space for creatives, your first thought is your people. Hearing job after job canceled, a lot of worry and just uncertainty with the people you’ve chosen to do life with.
Our focus quickly became pretty inwardly focused and forgetting about the outward face, which is social media. So yes, we have been a little quieter in the last 3 weeks or so on here, at first out of shock, then out of a focus on our flocc family, finding ways to encourage, give information, connect and help us all stay together. These things we don’t feel like we need to show on social media.
This virus has made everyone slow down and ponder on the most important things. There is a lot of great programs, classes and such that a lot of people are doing, which is fantastic, but there is also a lot of noise happening. We kind of don’t want to add to that noise. We want to sit with the silence, sit with the uncomfortable stillness and learn from it. And then, when we feel like we have something valuable to add, we will.
So for now, we will continue to focus on our Flocc community, improving the Flocc space, supporting local when possible and learning to be okay with the quiet and stillness. And in due time, with energy and insight, will again broaden our focus to the larger community.
We really do feel optimistic about the future and are excited about our community growing even closer through all of this.
