Much to my surprise, Raf was not only familiar with my work as Dhol Jockey, but also my work as a reciter for the Ahlul Bayt (a).
As a Shia artist, the foundation of my voice is through reciting nohay, soz/salaam/manqabat- for an artist like Raf to celebrate that, especially in a world where my people are often targeted for this divine and holy love, meant the absolute world.
