Lunar New Year is the festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar calendar, marking the end of winter and the beginning of the spring season. Growing up I loved going to the lantern festival (always nearly burning my hand with the janky candle in my cellophane/paper lantern) and watching the Lion Dance performance. The rhythm of the drums, the firecrackers 💥, the gambling (IYKYK), receiving red envelopes 🧧- it was always my favorite holiday! Now, it’s fun to give envelopes to my son, nieces, and nephews and experience the joy of the holiday through their eyes. This year, we’re especially excited to share a little bit of this with you!
