POM: Printing on Materials
October 23 - January 24, 2027

A group exhibition featuring prints by Michigan artists working with unconventional materials.
POM*POM is an in-real-life (IRL) community and collective of printmakers based in Michigan (formally known as Printmakers of Michigan — Printing on Materials).

In the spirit of Halloween, join us for Paper-Mache Mask Making Drop-In Workshops on Thursday evenings of October 22nd and 29th from 4-8pm!

Led by erin wakeland we will be crafting paper mache masks from a paper mask base and recycled materials. Feel free to bring in recycled materials for the group!

First come, first served. 1 mask per person. Donation based.

It was awesome to have Hannah Rose Creative Co. and her pup Daisy in the shop this Summer for a couple month Residency! They made the trip up from the DC area to visit Detroit and make work at Signal-Return.

Hannah had goals of exploring our shops type collection, making multi-block linoleum prints and bringing color into the work. Mission accomplished!

Hannah’s made-in-house prints are available in store and online! Stop by and check them out!

This past weekend, Jon (blue cap + glasses) from Egg Press flew in to Detroit from Portland and spent three full days instructing us on how to use our Heidelberg! He brought over a decade of experience running these presses and was very generous and patient with us. We got the press last year October through Laura heartygreetings (see trailer photo) Our neighbors at Greatwater Homes recommended a great electrician and once the electrical was installed and passed city inspection, Brian Brian came in on Sundays to help shore-up the mechanics. We had board support to bring Jon out + the awesome support of Tess from Egg Press, Thank you! It’ll take more practice hours, but we are excited at the possibilities to expand our output capabilities in-house 🌞
