The Gathered on Water Street event has us thinking about community. It was obviously a really special night. People talked about sharing conversation with others - both friends and strangers - in a beautiful setting. Enjoying connections with people and place. An amazing addition to the list of unique experiences that happen because of this special community.

But we realized that we do something like that every week, with our Thursday Night Jogging Club and RunWest on Saturday mornings. Gathering in a beautiful place and sharing time and conversations with strangers who eventually become friends.

We start out with one thing in common - the love of the run - and discover other things about each other that continue to bring us together. In a world that has become increasingly focused toward online connections, this is something real. And in the end, that’s all anybody wants.

Keep-It-Local Strava Segment Challenge: Monday, October 5th through Thursday, October 29th at 9:00 PM.

The segment is “Notorious LRT” - a relatively flat .57 mile loop featuring a stretch of gravel on the LRT trail. The participant with the most segments during the challenge period will win a prize package from Brooks.

Pretty simple:
- Start at the bike rack on the LRT (near Pique Travel)
- Go west on LRT
- Left on George St (cut corner the on the sidewalk)
- Stay on left side of George, over the hill
- Left on Water Street at Jes Naturals
- Left on LRT to start again

Let’s see what we can do.

Pretty simple route map for our Saturday Supported Long Run. Those running 20 miles will go east 5 miles and back to Excelsior, then west 5 miles and back.

Lots of options for those who want to run shorter, while still taking advantage of on-course hydration.

Hydration stops with Nuun Hydration and water every 3-4 miles. Portable toilets available at Cottagewood, Manitou, Freeman and Cathcart Parks.

Run will start at 7:30 from the store. Plenty of free parking in the ramp right behind the store on West Drive. Doors open at 7:00 am and the store will remain open throughout the morning.
