This costume draws inspiration from Cabuyaran, the revered mythical goddess of healing in Ilocano folklore. As the daughter of Abra and the elder Makiling, Cabuyaran is known for her divine mission to restore health and well-being.

In today’s world, her role as a healer is more relevant than ever. Beyond physical healing, society grapples with deeper wounds—conflict, hatred, and division. This costume serves as a powerful symbol of renewal, unity, and hope, reflecting the need for healing in all aspects of life.

Crafted from handwoven Ilocano fabric, the ensemble pays homage to the rich textile heritage of the Philippines, a tradition meticulously passed down through generations. The dominant green hue represents growth, renewal, and vitality. It also serves as a tribute to Nicole’s home state, Washington, famously known as the Evergreen State.

Just as Cabuyaran nurtures and restores balance, this costume stands as a reminder of the enduring power of healing—one that transcends time, borders, and cultures.
